What’s better than a BBQ when camping? Not a lot really! Exactly why I purchased this off Amazon. £25 allows me to cook quite a lot and this will be featured in quite a few of my videos I think. You can stake this into the ground and the stake has 2 “wings” which will stop it from falling over when there is weight on the grill.
The grill arm itself is height adjustable, although can be a bit stiff, allows you to control how close to the flames you have you meal cooking. The grill can swivel on the arm as well allowing you to take it off the heat without a major faff.
This certainly isn’t something you want to be lugging around with you when walking long distance as it is quite heavy and bulky. This would be great on campsites that allow bbqs / camp fires as parking next to your pitch you can bring more luxuries.
Cooking on this has been quite good for me. I generally have a campfire going anyway so being able to cook on it makes sense as not wasting any extra fuel to cook dinner.
There are a couple of issues I have found though. The metal is cheap for a start and warps easy so connecting the poles together can be quite difficult after a few uses, especially if you have had to hammer the stake into hard ground. The grill arm can be quite difficult to adjust to the right height as well once hot.
Other than that, for £25, I can’t really complain. I look forward to cooking more on here to be honest! Might just need to invest in a metal file to shave down some of the warping.
